A regular at Strathmiglo Vintage Agricultural Machinery Rally is John Marshall from Auchtermuchty, a great potato expert who leads ‘Tattie Talks’ and has spent a ‘lifetime in potatoes’. I didn’t get time to talk to Peter in depth, but he kindly let me photograph a few of his collection of tattie baskets from different eras showing the development of materials for tattie sculls.
These included a woven scull with a handle, a wooden Monrose scull with a wire base, a metal scull and a plastic scull.
